Laurence Jenkell

Self-taught contemporary French artist, Laurence Jenkell (b. December 31, 1965), lives and creates in Vallauris in the Alpes-Maritimes, France, where she has been creating medium- defying sculptures since the 1990’s. Implementing her signature “wrapping twist technique,” Jenkell creates larger than life pieces of candy in bright colors and varying sizes, completed in materials including bronze, plexiglass, aluminum and marble. Jenkell’s sculptures, which have gone to auction at Christie’s and Sotheby’s, have also been commissioned by international companies like Coca Cola, global foundations like the Foundation Chanel, and showcased by world- renowned art exhibitions like Art Basel Miami. Her works have been exhibited in more than 25 countries and are on permanent display in public and private collections including the Bouygues Foundation, the Bettencourt-Schueller Foundation, the Tel Aviv Museum and the Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta.
