Allez Poupou

Poupou was the nickname of Raymond Poulidor. He was the favorite french bicycle racer during his career in the 60’s and 70’s.
He never won the Tour de France but he won many races and the hearts of the French people. They call him the “eternal second” in France. He was a real gentleman on and off the bike and definitely a model for the cycling world. Raymond Poulidor just passed in 2020 and I painted him riding away from France to go race in the stars.
